Jupiter was one of our Founding Roosters. Jupiter and his brother Yuri were the reason we started to see animals normally only seen as food as true companion animals.

When they came to live with us, we had no idea what big personalities chickens have. They would come to our back door, asked to be let in, and spend the afternoons napping on the couch, eating with our two dogs, and charming us into wanting to create a safe space for more animals of their kind. As Jupiter became a senior, he moved into our house full time so that he could get the close supervision and special care he needed. There will always be a special place in our hearts for roosters.

Roosters are the most discarded farmed animal. When people buy chicks to raise for eggs there are always a few roosters in the mix as it is very hard to sex baby chicks. We get more calls for unwanted roosters than any other animal. That is why we thought it would be appropriate to name our highest donor level The Jupiter Circle.
